Carrie Kane, LMFT
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Hello! I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to creating a collaborative, compassionate space where individuals, couples, and families can feel safe to be honest, vulnerable, and connected—both with themselves and with each other.
I earned my degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Antioch University of New England and am licensed to practice in Massachusetts, New York, and via telehealth in Vermont. My work is grounded in trauma-informed care and relational healing, supported by specialized training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Progressive Counting (PC), and the Flash Technique.
I draw from several therapeutic frameworks, including the Bader & Pearson Developmental Model of Couples Therapy, Bowen Family Systems Theory, Solution-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Body-Up Co-Regulation. These approaches help me support clients in understanding how current struggles often have deeper roots in early experiences, core beliefs, and intergenerational patterns.
My clinical lens is deeply shaped by both personal and professional insight into intergenerational trauma—and the emotional distress, disconnection, and repeating cycles it can create within families. I’ve had the privilege of walking with many clients through some of life’s most painful and transformative moments.
A quote that guides my work comes from Pat Parelli: “Take the time it takes so it takes less time.” I believe in respecting each client’s unique pace, while holding steady focus on the goals that bring them to therapy.
Whether you're navigating the impacts of trauma, grief, relationship conflict, or major life transitions, I strive to provide a grounded, supportive environment where meaningful change can take root.
